what is the point of a college education?
the other night ralph was looking at his college transcript and listing classes he had taken. they sounded very similar to the classes i had taken (we majored in the same thing at different schools); pointless. we both wondered, what did we really learn? how do these have anything to do with what we do now? and, why would we be more likely to get a job than someboday who didn't have a college degree?
i guess what it all boils down to is that we stuck it out for 4-5 years and went in debt for a piece of paper. i'm glad i didn't know how little the classes mattered then because then because it would've all seemed so pointless. as it turns out, ralph taught himself everything for the career he's in now, and mine has been entirely on-the-job learning.
no recommendations here, just venting, and getting ready to pay my student loan...
Perhaps your college education helped you to create the cute picture you put at your heading :) Just kidding.. It's a cute picture with dog in the middle. I certainly hope my grad school will help me to create something nice. It seems like everyone has post-graduate study or 2nd degrees now a college education is only minimum qualification on a job applicant's resume.

College education plays an important role in our lives. It's the key for success and the reason on why you are on your current profession. You might not need every single detail you've learned from college, but I assure you won't be in your position right now without it.
