what a day! what a very boring day.
there's nothing like waking upo at 6:47 am on a saturday and not being able to fall back asleep.
my solution? the sex and the city dvd series set. i watched like 6 this morning. and they were great. i finally learned how carrie and aidan met, and that big and aidan actually meet. weird. it's good that i didn't have hbo when the show was origianlly on air- this wouldn't be half as fun! i guess that's the good thing about being broke when you're young- no cable, let alone hbo.
i feel like i have nothing to do and i don't want to do anything. i sat in my car for 10 minutes trying to figure out what to do...get misc. items and mail from condo, go eat a dutch baby pancake at original house of pancakes, shop for home decorating, clean, shower, dust...none are appealing. so after dirving around for five minutes (thinking this would help), i returned back to my parking spot at home.
i was hungry so i pulled out a box of macroni to cook. yuck, yes, i know but i still love macaroni from the box. but what would you know- we're out of milk. so the next best thing was rice-a-roni. who have i become?
while the macaroni was cooking i thought it'd be nice to make oatmeal cookies. and then i find, we're out of eggs and brown sugar. ugh, we never have anything we actually need! though our fridge has quite a selection of beverages and cheeses.
so...time to go shopping- this gives me something to do and it is quite necessary if i want to have homemade oatmeal cookies today.
trader joe's, please be empty and don't give me some weirdo cashier like i usually get who wants to make small talk about one of my foood items. please don't let me get overzealous in the nut and dried fruit aisle because we're not backpackers and we don't need 10 kinds of nuts and 20 kinds of dried fruits. and just keep walking right on by that nitrate-free bacon- because nitrate-free does not = fat free and heart-healthy. damn those labels! please let there be no screaming kids because for the love of god, i'm tired of hearing screaming kids whenever i go out on the weekends. i'm not a total grinch (i used to be a career babysitter to pay the bills), i just hate when parents let their kids scream forever and don't go outside.
hmm...roo's baby is due in july...must continue to work on my patience for crying babies, etc.
off to trader joe's. please move your cart! ciao.
