milo's 1st surgery

milo is having his first (and hopefully his last) surgery  tomorrow-- the big cut to be neutered.  i feel bad for him but 1.) i figured this surgery is part of being a responsible pet owner since we don't want any unexpected puppies (though i'm sure they'd be adorable!), 2.) the vet said he might calm down a bit, 3.) i don't think lotte was put on earth to be a punching bag for milo.  i'm sad because i don't want him in pain. 

the interesting thing is that when i spoke with the vet, they were asking if i wanted the option of  other surgeries.  when i said no to one, they offered another.  they wanted to clip his nostrils first.  when i said no to that they wanted to open the are near his soft palette.  no to that, too!  what is this?!  i only want him neutered!!!  i'll cross those other bridges only if necessary.  i guess they do this to pug owners but c'mon...the dog has a face that is as flat as a wall... they'll always have breathing problems!

yup, it's true...

i still despise wal-mart.  after an a's game this past weekend, ralph and i stopped at wal-mart because we were conveniently near one.  my question is, why do stores like wal-mart always smell like moth balls?  well, that's another thing to add to my list against wal-mart.  anyways, the point is that wal-mart doesn't sell max factor anymore either.  this is really disappointing because nobody sells world's best mascara anymore- my eyelashes are crying a river.  if you see it, please buy the entire stock for me!!!

has the world gone mad?

my world was turned upside down when i learned that target is no longer carrying max factor. this feeling passed when i relaized i could go to rite aid, longs, walgreen's to find my staple mascara. well, when i went to those other stores, i saw that it was removed from their shelves, too! i must ask myself has the world gone mad? what's happening with max factor, and more importantly, what can ever replace 2000 calorie mascara?

i went on their website to do some investigating and it states that their products are still available at wal-mart and some other random places. i don't hate many things in life but i truly hate wal-mart for many reasons:

1.) they are terrible to their employees and they're destroying small business. ok. ok-- i know target has some things in common with wm but at least they give a lot back to the communities where they sit.

2.) i feel like i've entered a war zone where babies have clearly won.

3.) it creeps me out and i lose track of time because many of the customers wear their pajamas at all hours.

for 2000 calorie, i will venture into my living nightmare and take a trek to wal-mart. more to come on whether or not they have it in stock.

i am inspector gadget

recently i have been thinking about my wardrobe and realized that the bottoms consist of 2 essentials: black pants and jeans. there are two pairs of brown pants in the mix but one pair is too short and the other is too long. and frankly, i'm too lazy to go to the tailor. and the gray ones...those must've been sucked into the black hole because i haven't seen those since i worked at wilson.

how does this relate to me being inspector gadget? oh, well i think he had a closet full of all the same clothes which is like me. for tops, i love black cardigans and printless long-sleeve scoop necks. ugh, work clothing can be so formulaic (sp?).

i wondered if people at my job think i wear the same pants every day. if they looked and the seems/hems, they would notice the subtleties of my black pants. but who really does this aside from me?!

anyways, in a meeting i went to this morning, i felt relief when the girl next to me said she only has black pants. ah...my cloting soul mate! with warm weather on the way, i'm thinking two things:

1.) get brown pants hemed in time for fall and winter

2.) get various black pants hemmed differently as to make capris and bermuda shorts...hmm, do bermuda shorts work on a person of my height?

top chef

i love top chef. every wednesday at 11 pm, i start counting down until the next episode. best of all, it's taking place in san francisco so we're learning about more awesome places to add to our list of "must try." if there is top chef 2, i am so auditioning!

tonight miguel was eliminated- big suprise. he's been such an evil person lately! my next prediction is that stephen or dave will be cut. ultimately, i predict the top 3 as tiffany, leanne, and harold. i would like to see leanne or harold take #1 because tiffany is so obnoxious.

busting caps

i think i busted my knee caps in my mad rush to make it upstairs in time for top chef (my new obsession). of course this would happen after an 8-mile bike ride. as if my legs weren't in enough pain. i don't think i've exercised in over 5 months (aside from dog walks) so if i'm able to walk tomorrow it'll be amazing!

one fish, two fish= dead fish

my pet fishes have died. i am world's worst fish mom. i'm not really sure what happened but ralph seems to think i shocked them when i changed their water. i really didn't know that it is crucial to de-chlorinate their water before putting them back in their bowl. :(

no more fish for now. i'll keep it to the dogs.

it's a girl!

it's a girl! yup, i'm going to have a niece on or around july 24th. i'm so excited i can hardly wait! roo has chosen a name but that will be revealed on the baby's bday! roo has been getting bigger and looks due any day now but really she has about 3 more months to go. we're going to start taking the delivery classes and it should be enough to make me never want to have a baby- well, at least not for a while. i plan on buying a special glove (like the ones that zoo keepers where when a voulture lands on them?) for the hand/arm that she'll be squeezing. i think i'm going to be world's best aunt!
