this has to be one of the cutest clips i've ever seen on the internet.  i didn't realize pugs could get around in water so well, afterall dog's first attempt in the pool wasn't worth repeating.  perhaps it would be better if she had a life jacket.

wine-o at 10 o'clock

on monday i noticed that the work fridge had 2 bottles of the de santo wine (one was opened, the other was not)- the wine that ralph and i didn't choose on our trip to napa.  so i was really curious to know if we missed out on a good thing.  well, today my curiosity got the best of me and i poured a splash into a paper bowl (in the "work" kitchen) so it would be a discrete (in case co-workers walked in) tasting.  needless to say it wasn't discrete (drinking a splash of wine out of a paper bowl!) so i had to explain my story so people who walked into the kitchen and didn't know me wouldn't think i was a wine-o! 

the wine (de santo) wasn't that good so it wasn't even worth sneaking a sip!  i'm so glad we didn't buy that one.  ralph just told me that we bought origins sauvignon blanc.  now that's one worth sneaking if you have the chance!

i really cannot stop laughing at my weekly update from thesuperficial.com.  it's quite funny cause this guy hates everbody and if he doesn't, he totally lusts after them.  why am i reading this?!  i was just reading a clip on the latest hollywood pregnancy announcement and he wrote that he wants to punch kevin federline in the face.  i laughed so loud for ten minutes that i'm surprised i didn't just get fired!

anyways, it was so funny to me because when i first started dating ralph i had an elaborate list of rules posted on my refrigerator called "dog's laws" for when people were dogsitting.  it outlined every inch of her life and what to do, and it outlined every possible thing that could go wrong and what to do in those "1 in a million" situations.  ralph read the line: "when her stomach gets upset feed her cottage cheese and soft white rice" as "when her stomach gets upset punch her in the face." now, i don't condone any sort of abuse (neither does ralph) of dogs or of anything for that matter (not even the walls), but i found this so funny that i nearly pissed my pants when i heard him say that, and just thinking about it sends me into laughing paralysis, nearly 2 years later!  it's remembering things like this that used to always get me kicked out of class when i was in h.s.  oh, the good ol' days!  and ralph's definitely a keeper for leaving me with something that could make me laugh my way through anything!

anyways, the laughing is killing me (oh wow, and giving me a great ab workout!) and i really should head home to rest for having half of my face sloughed off later this evening!  wish me luck under that machine that blasts super fine crystals on my face as it vacumms up layers of dead skin!  is there anybody who knows how to have more fun on a wednesday night than me?

the other day a freind's friend was fired because her manager heard from another co-worker that the firee called her a "bitch."  now isn't that hearsay?  is this really a reason to fire somebody?  how many workers don't call their boss names is the real question!  ok, not really though...

when your friend gets fired but you invite them to dinner before they get fired (or before you knew they were fired), do you have to pay for them?  does the answer change if they live with their parents and don't really need to support themselves? so the loss of income is no big loss though the loss of job (being fired)  probably crushes thir insides.

maybe the apprentice will tackle this issue in a future episode since seinfeld is off-air.

ok, nothing against sarah jessica parker (sjp) but i nearly pee'd in my pants when i read this piece from the superficial.com about joss stone (who has an awesome voice) as the new face of gap.  this writer is so funny!

ralph and i were watching the ashlee simpson show last night and he pulled up this link to show me.  it's funny and points out what people are thinking but nobody is saying.  i'm sure she's nice but the link will still make you laugh.

i can't stop laughing!

i was just offered something from my "special appointment" on friday and i can't stop laughing from the price they offered me! are you kidding me?! it's a great opportunity but i do have my standards. to take a cut for a higher position where i'd be working my ass off makes me never want to stop laughing! i could take it for the experience and the growth opportunities and i could walk to work but a mama's gotta be able to pay for the dog food! on top of less pay, the benefits are less by by a longshot! jeez...right job, wrong price. any tips?

it was obviously a lazy weekend, hence no weekend posts- well, i did go to the beach, and an a's game (ralph's surprise for me)- so maybe not so lazy afterall! i slept and cleaned all weekened. i'm going to try eating less sugar because i had some sugar problems that make me feel uneasy and gross. so far, i'm doing good. i've only had 2 hershey kisses today. that's a record for me! next stop, gym!

this little saying was sent to me by one of my humorous co-workers. too bad i can't figure out how to include the picture of the little flea. it would make you pee in your pants!

speaking of fleas, i put frontline on dog last night and i nearly went blind when she shook herself and the frontline wooshed into my eyes. i forgot to wear my sunglasses as night which i usually do for the monthy frontline application. better luck next time, and no, i didn't go blind but it felt as though an army of red ants infested my eyes.

dinner confirmed...el burro. after a max's lunch and their ultimate chocolate cake, i'm v. certain that the last thing my stomach needs this evening is mexican food. good thing margaritas aren't food.

my car was stolen

well, not really but in my dream it was. and i was quite happy. i lived in san francisco and i went to find my car parked where it had been parked the night before but it wasn't anywhere. that's what happens when you drive to santa cruz for cookies on a sunday night, proceed to eat 2 cookies with milk, and then fall asleep reading (no offense to my exciting reading material) on a comfy bed with brand new dirty sheets. perhaps the dream comes to me because i've really been wanting to get the new volvo xc-70 and i've been wanting to move to the city.

this weekend, my gift subscription from aunt b proved to be the gift that keeps on giving. they sent me a brief survey and it had $1 in the envelope. i was happy to have received $1 in what i would've ordinarily disregarded as junk mail and tossed- maybe that's what they mean by the term lucky bum- lucky is the bum that can find all the glamour surveys in the garbage containing crisp $1 bills! i took the survey because i felt guilty for them giving me $1 if i was just going to toss it. besides, after the doctorate survey at work, i now know the importance of a high response rate. they said they chose a select group to take the survey and that made me feel special though i'm sure it was just a ploy to do just that.

amanda and i are supposed to hike after work so i hope our plan pans out. i'm sure i'll be very winded after climbing that hill since i slept and cleaned all weekend, neither offered a cardiac workout, especially since roo did most of my cleaning. ralph and i managed to squeeze in 2 movies...wimbeldon (b+: good date movie) and forgotten (c: i expected an ending with punch but i was let down).

i had some major electrical difficulties in my place last night and the electrician finally solved the problem- yay, i now have power beyond 3 lights- sorry d&d, we'll have to celebrate the bday sometime this week. i am happy to say that after hiking i will go home to a fully-powered unit. :)

the pres. debate is this thursday and i can't wait. pizza my heart take out, here i come!
