can i just say...

i officially hate tom cruise.  he's such a bugger and just by association katie holmes is starting to get under my skin.  all of his recent comments are over the top and he's totally obnoxious!  his top gun days are definitely coming to an end because he's shooting himself in the foot left and right lately.

btw, if i haven't mentioned it already, i slept through batman begins.  sidenote: i saw mr. & mrs. smith and loved it!  they're such a great duo and possibly two of the most attractive people in the world, yup, world.

(ok, back to tom cruise and katie holmes) how is it possible for 2 people who i don't know to annoy me so badly?  i'm sure it'll get even better when the media comes up with some stupid name for them like the oh-so-clever benifer (sp?).  i'm sure i'll find the answer to my loathing for them at the next hr meeting, and more than likely it is rooted with me.  yay!

dog's allergic reaction :(

today ralph called me at work and said, "there's an emergency with (dog)."  boy, is that the wrong thing to tell a pet owner or a parent!

turns out dog had an allergic reaction to a yellow jacket sting (we think, the exact cause still remains a mystery!) and started having little seizure-like things happen to her.  my mom was walking her when it happened and she suddenly collapsed and her tongue was going pale.

as soon as i heard the news i made my 35 minute drive home in a record time of 10 minutes!  i was trying to call my mom at home to tell her "benadryl is the answer for most allergic reactions- even in pets."  well, now she knows that but when you're cheap and don't pay for call waiting, it takes a while to get that piece of info.

ralph and i left work to take dog to the pet er and they ran some labs and gave her the shots.  the cause is unknown though my mom thinks it was a sting of some sort since she collapsed in the grass near flowers.  i'm ruling out heat stroke because she's been in hotter temps for longer and been a champ.

who knows?!  we're just so happy that the bebe is doing well and back to her normal playful self!

time to buy more benadryl!

who is kevin federline?

two words: johnny appleseed.  but at least johnny appleseed was useful!

this morning when i was leaving to work, ralph told me in his half-asleep state that britney spears is pregnant.  no shocker here!  how many kids will this be for federline now?  3, 4, 5?  my point is, i think his goal is to plant his seed in as many women as possible, across the nation to start a new cult or something shady.

i heard they're going to have their own reality show on upn which already has failure written all over it simply because it is on upn.  how do they not know this?!  maybe they do know but britney doesn't care; she just wants him to stop asking for an allowance already.  this series is guaranteed to be as toxic as her music!  you can bet i'll be watching! ;)

psychic connections

i insist i am psychic (see entry on amanda dated 3/30) but of course nobody believes me.  i'm really good at predicting births and other odd events that come to me in my dreams or i just get a feeling about things.

anyways, amanda and i must have a mental connection (maybe she is psychic, too?!) because she bought me a scarf that i was wanting to buy 2 weeks after she had bought it (and i didn't know she had bought me anything).  and what are the odds of this...it was some random shop on a long, long, long street full of tons of cute shops and i told ralph how much i wanted that scarf when we were there but i decided i shouls save my money instead of buying every single thing i wanted.  then, amanda gave me that same scarf last night.  crazy, huh?!

am i going crazy?

the answer is probably "yes" most of the time but today it's truly not me, it's typepad!  i've received several emails wishing dog a happy birthday so one of a few things is going on here...1.) people think dog's name is lindsay (which it's not; lindsay is my former co-worker and friend), 2.) typepad has already posted the entry i did on dog's bday even though it's not suppose to post unil 4/18/05 because i marked it as a "future" post, or, 3.) i wrote soemthing about it being her bday but i didn't notice that i made it seem like it was yesterday or today when really it is a few weeks away (4/18).  what's going on here?  if you know, please let me know how you saw a post or material relating to dog's bday.

i feel like crap today and i wish i would've stayed in bed.  this is a so-so week that i'm sure only an easter basket full of candy and gossip mags can solve!  my hormones are out of control and i want sweets despite my "sweet strike."  i'm so cranky today that my bones hurt and my head aches.  now i know what crabs feel like!  also, my jeans shrunk or i ganined weight!  probably a dash of both!

on top of the unsolved mystery listed above (dog's bday thing), there is the issue of my state taxes being rejected!!!!  why?  my taxes are the simplest ever- i have an income and some student loans and that's it!  nothing fancy.  nothing that warrants my taxes being rejected!  i think the governator has something to do with this.  to top it off, the reject code is 679 (a discrepency with my agi from last year on line 0020 which i interpret as line 20 since nothing is numbered 0020) and line 20 has nothing to do with agi.  no wonder i've never done my taxes myself.  i'd rather pay somebody to deal with such annoyances.  then it's their problem, not mine.  then it's their ass rotting in jail for tax evasion, not mine!  ok, i'm overdramaticizing this a bit.  it'll all be solved tonight once i re-file using a 1040ez (is this for state or federal?) and kick the 540 c1 to the curb.  why were federal taxes much easier?  i've already received my $ from them.  more on this later but watch out for esmarttax.com because they're not there to help after they give you error code 679!

i'm sure my day would be better if i would've just located the astronaut ice cream at fry's last night, and had i not bought a "new" scrathed up version of bridget jones: the edge of reason.  now, i have to go back to fry's, even if the scratched version works because i want the new thing to look new!!!  i hate fry's (sorry ralph; sorry irene)!  they can't even keep their astronaut ice cream stocked!!!  the cashier helping me last night insisted that i buy the astro ice cream and he told me it's somewhere in aisle 5, 6, or 7.  that didn't really help but neither did the woman who worked there who was standing in aisle 5.  some people just have no clue what astro ice cream is and when you try explaining it to them, it requires that they have knowledge of the english language or that i have knowledge of their language.  simply put, her english was poor so she had no clue what i was talking about and she suggested i check the freezer at the front of the store.  ok, at least the ice cream part made it through.  so, no astro ice cream.  the cashier was as let down as me because he was having me find the astro ice cream not only for me, but also for his lunch break- i'm fairly certain of this since he was so set on me leaving with the astro ice cream.  anyways...thank goodness for fried bananas and homemade coconut ice cream at thai delight.  yeah, like this is really what i need after a dinner at outback steakhouse!  we saw amanda at the thai place which is no surprise because we all love the thai place! 

ralph just im'd me about his new phone.  i'm sure you'll hear all about it from me or him soon enough.

number two

who pooped in ralph's toilet on 2/16/05 and didn't flush? 

yuck, i'm being gross but we need to get the mystery van crew on the case a.s.a.p.- dog can do a good double as scooby (because she usually acts like a boy dog anyways), i'll be velma (because that's my grandma's name) and ralph can be shaggy (simply because he's not blonde so he shouldn't be the blonde guy, also i prefer dark hair). 

i was worried that his "escort" neighbor is on to us intentionally making her clients feel uncomfortable as they enter her "chamber"...so she must have some how snuck into his apartment (unconveniently located on the second floor) and dropped a number 2 without flushing.  why?  as a warning or something, for us not to mess with her or her pimp.  hmm.

we're going to get to the bottom of this!  he can't just have a mystery guest using his bathroom when he's not home, not flushing!  if the mystery guest is reading (escort lady next door!), please flush.

the non-mystery of the non-poop picker upper

i'm so annoyed about a note on my door from the complex manager. i had a special note, as imagine the 3 other women in the complex who own dogs (we're the only people with dogs there) had on their door as well. it explained that somebody in the complex wasn't picking up "her pooches poop." well, no shit! it didn't take sherlock holmes to crack that case. i know who it is but i'm not going to tell the manager. i was just so mad that she thinks it could be me! also inside the envelope was a complex update and honestly, who cares? after reading the poop note i was too upset to read the rest. i wrote the manager a note letting her know that i think it's unsanitary, etc., etc. how dare her, i always have a bag for poop pick-up. whatever (ralph's favorite word in my vocabulary). guess their job sucks to have to pick up dog shit when it's not even their dog, just to have to mow the lawn afterwards.

my "special appointment" went well. i think things look up for me but i guess you never know with this sort of thing. they could be stringing me along. it'd be a lot, a lot, a lot more work, more dough (hmm...i'm thinking new volvo xc-70), but less vacation time. :( and i am the original lady of leisure. hopefully i'll have some more info by next tuesday.

tonight is my surprise from ralph and i can't imagine what it could be. he asked about binoculars for omar and rebecca but maybe it's really for us. he also asked about a backpack and he told me to dress warmly. i'm certain we're going to an event at shoreline but i love the element of surprise so i'm not going to search online for the event. i must dash home to change clothes and grab backpack because we have to leave by 5:30. mom is watching dog so that is super helpful.

today i had lunch with amanda and new girl who was hired as perm employee yesterday. she's smart and nice, and has a good sense of fashion which is good to balance out all the people at work who dress like they haven't shopped since 1958. anyways, burgers at the goose were yummy but i'm really looking forward to our next visit so i can try the grilled cheese- one of my all-time favorite sandwiches. they also have excellent deviled eggs, just like moms but a lot spicier (sp?).

my eyes hurt. i think i should start wearing my glasses. not even allergy eye drops did the trick this am. guess i have to face the facts that along with my hair turning white prematurely, my vision is going downhill as well- this is compared to the days when my eyes didn't hurt from not wearing my glasses. maybe i could wear sunglasses in the building. now those, i love and could wear all the time!
